Letter From the President

Welcome all players and parents to a new season of Grand Blanc Little League baseball. As registration is nearing completion for the early sessions (Minors & Majors), I would like to remind you that it is required for your players to attend one of the two Skills Evaluations on February 24th (9 am - 1 pm South Baptist Church 4091 Van Slyke Rd.) or March 10th (9am - 1pm West Middle School 1515 Reid Rd.). These evaluations are to help the coaches select players for evenly skilled teams in our divisions. Our Tournament Team coaches will be at the evaluations to assist, if there is any interest for your player to tryout for our Little League World Series Tournament Team, please feel free to let us know. There will be a representative of the GBLL on site to confirm uniform sizing during the evaluations.

This season a new rule is being implemented by Little League International about the types of bats to be allowed in Little League games. Last season we put what little we knew about the new bat standards on the GBLL website. We now have all the information, and I am putting a link in my letter here: Little League Bat Information. A representative from our uniform and equipment supplier will be at the evaluations with a selection of approved bats for purchase.

I would like to thank all the volunteers we do have in place, and ask for more volunteers to please come forward to assist us in making this season an even better one than we have had in the past. We always seem to be needing coaches in the Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions, as well as Player Agents for nearly every division as well. If you find that you have the desire to volunteer, please feel free to contact us to express interest in doing so. The email addresses of all of your Board Members is in the “About Us” tab on this very website.

As parents of Little Leaguers, we are responsible for showing these young players the proper way to behave and conduct themselves in a positive way through good sportsmanship. We ask that you read and sign the “Parent Code of Conduct” form found under the “Forms” tab. It is also important that we protect our players from serious injury. Please read and sign the “Concussion” form under the same tab.

Thank You for entrusting your Little Leaguers to us for this season,

Carl Mervyn
