T-Ball Rules

T-ball is an instructional division. The intent is to teach players the foundation of baseball and softball.
Safety is first and foremost.

1. Each game will be three (3) innings long with a time limit of one hour. No inning shall start after 45 minutes of play.
Once started both the bottom and top of the inning will be completed.
2. Home team will occupy the third base dugout and visiting team will occupy the first base dugout.
3. The visiting team will bat first.
4. Each inning both teams will bat their entire line-up or until three (3) outs. Whichever comes first. The last player to
bat runs all bases.
5. Each hit will advance one base. No advancing on over-throws.
6. Outs will be enforced. Player may not remain at the base after being called out.
7. The offensive coach will have the final say on all close plays. When in doubt, the player will be called safe.
8. The offensive team will have three (3) coaches on the field. 1st base, 3rd base, batting assistant.
9. Coaches should develop a batting order at the beginning of the season and keep it consistent throughout, moving the lead off player to the bottom of the line up after each inning.
10. The defense must throw the ball to first (1st) base. The play must be made at first bases.
11. Two (2) defensive coaches must position themselves behind the baseline in the outfield.
12. All players on the team will be allowed on the field for defense. Players may only be positioned in the four (4)
standard infield positions in addition to the pitcher. The remaining players must be positioned in the outfield grass.
13. The defensive team must remain on the field until there are three (3) out until the last batter has crossed home plate.
14. Players must change positions every inning and should rotate between infield and outfield positions. Coaches should
make an effort to ensure that each player has an equal opportunity to play each position throughout the season.
15. Any coach may call a short time out after any play to provide instruction to a player about the preceding play. The
coach pitching should ensure that the fielding team is ready before pitching.
16. No score will be kept. Neither team will be declared the winner.
17. Every offensive player is required to wear a helmet when batting or running the bases. These rules also pertain to practices.
18. Little League Regulations prohibit on-deck batters. This means that no player should swing a bat, until it is his/her
time at bat unless directed and supervised by a coach.
19. Only Grand Blanc Little League provided soft core T-Ball balls will be used in games and practices.
20. Only Little League approved bats will be used in games and practices. Bat rules are available at www.littleleague.org
21. Anyone not registered as a Coach, Manager, or Parent Volunteer with the league shall not be allowed on the field or in the dugout.
22. Balls should never be hit into fences. Players should never climb fences.
23. Rain outs will be made up at the coaches’ discretion. Coaches should follow the league procedures to reschedule.
24. All coaches must adhere to the “Coaches Code of Conduct” or they will not be allowed to coach.
25. All parents must adhere to the “Parents Code of Conduct” or they will be asked to leave.

During the Last 2 Weeks of the Season
1. Players may advance up to 2 bases if the ball is hit into the outfield grass.
2. Fielders may make outs at any base.
3. Coaches may throw up to three (3) pitches to any player they feel is ready. Coaches should maintain a good pace of
play as to not allow the fielders to become disinterested and at risk of being hit by the ball.
